Typically hay is the basis of an equine diet and yet most hays contain mineral imbalances and frequently some minerals are deficient. This can be rectified by selecting the correct supplements or making a custom supplement to exactly meet your horse's needs. In fact, custom supplements are often cheaper and more effective than the broad spectrum supplements sold at most feed stores.
